POSITION OVERVIEW:
Georgia Tech Athletics and The Aspire Group seek a teachable, positive and passionate individual that is committed to becoming a sports sales industry leader. This Intern will be responsible for supporting the Manager and the Ticket Sales staff in their efforts to sell Georgia Tech Football and Basketball season tickets, mini plans and groups along with any other relevant ticket plans as they are made available. Day to day leadership and mentoring of this career growth oriented, internship program will be provided by the Manager.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist with the management and growth of the ticket sales database
2. Act as a liaison for The Aspire Group Inc. and Georgia Tech Athletics Ticket Office
3. Assist with clerical duties, data entry and e-marketing campaigns
4. Manage & update sales records using Paciolan Ticket system on a daily and weekly basis
5. Record internal sales data to be applied toward incentives, commissions, promotions etc.
6. Administer season ticket and group ticket marketing collateral
7.Codify weekly call reports, analyze closing rates and maintain sales efficiency records.
8. Participate in monthly 'Green Light Brainstorming' sessions with entire department. Assist in the development of new Marketing growth programs and initiatives.


QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
• You must be currently enrolled in either an undergraduate or graduate college or university program or have graduated in the past 6 months
• You must be available to meet for a face-to-face interview following an initial phone interview
• Computer proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint required
• Previous customer service or retail sales experience; display a genuine desire to help people
• Professional image and demeanor
• Ability to work well with others, comfortable taking initiative and detail oriented


COMPENSATION:
No financial compensation is available.
Interns are eligible to receive academic course credit. Students are responsible for providing documentation toward receiving academic credit for the internship. This internship offers a unique opportunity to network with the best sports business professionals and could lead to career growth opportunities with The Aspire Group and/or Collegiate/Professional athletics.


START DATE: Spring 2011 (Minimum 20 hours per week)

Ticket Sales Intern - Stanford University Athletics (Stanford, CA)

About Stanford University Athletics:

Stanford University Athletics combines a rich history of championship caliber athletic competition, prestigious world-renowned academics, and the beautiful backdrop that is Palo Alto, California. Stanford Athletics boasts an incredible 114 National Championships. The Stanford Football program enjoyed two of its finest seasons in history during the 2010 & 2011 campaigns. Men’s and Women’s Basketball are perennial powers with consistent appearances in the NCAA Basketball Tournament. Sales Intern – Stanford University Athletics (Stanford, CA)

The Sales Intern’s primary responsibility is to support the sales staff with various projects and special events. The primary focus of the Intern will be Stanford Football with additional support as needed for Men’s and Women’s Basketball and Baseball. While this position is located on Stanford University campus, you will be employed by The Shakarian Group, a sports sales and marketing company. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, energetic, professional, passionate about sports entertainment, and want to work in sports. This is an unpaid internship.

Position Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To:

•Assist staff with sales of Stanford Football, Basketball and Baseball season tickets, partial plans, group tickets and special events.
• Call past customers to gauge interest and experience satisfaction levels.
• Assist in game day sales initiatives and/or prospecting clients at the stadium.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Computer proficiency: Database applications, Excel, Outlook and Word software.
• Assist with the development of Special Events and Fan Experience initiatives.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Possess a friendly and professional telephone manner.
• Strength in time management, administrative ability, organization, and customer service.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and listening skills.
• Have a strong desire to start a career in the sports industry.
• Work well in a team environment.
• Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude at all times.
• Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule (evenings, holidays, and weekends).

Athletics Diversity Council Graduate Assistant - University of Oklahoma (Norman, OK)

The University of Oklahoma Athletics Department invites applications for the Athletics Diversity Council Graduate Assistantship. In an effort to increase diversity within intercollegiate athletics, the Athletics Diversity Council sponsors two opportunities for diverse/minority candidates. The OU ADC GA is a two-year program: year one allows the GA  to experience different areas of the department through four eight-week rotations in various areas throughout the department. Year two is spent in one department of the assistants choice to gain more experience in that specific area.
