UCLA Athletic Performance Internship Winter-Spring 2018
The University Of California, Los Angeles is accepting applications for the position of Athletic Performance Intern. The Winter-Spring internship will run from January-May 2018. Duties include assisting the full-time Athletic Performance coaching staff in all aspects of UCLA Athletic Performance program including but not limited to warm-ups, strength and speed training, conditioning, and athlete assessment. Minimum requirements include, a bachelor’s degree or a degree in progress in an exercise science related field, CPR and First Aid certified, and a strong desire to pursue a career in collegiate strength and conditioning. Effective August 1st, 2015, NCAA legislation mandates that only certified personnel can coach athletes unsupervised, therefore, CSCS or CSCCA certification is preferred. A minimum time commitment of 30 hours per week is required. These positions are for VOLUNTEER coaches, no compensation will be provided. The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics consists of more than 275 staff members and coaches and sponsors 30 varsity sports programs. These 30 programs include more than 850 student-athletes who participate in the various sports programs annually within the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). We are currently seeking an Assistant Director of Operations for our Women’s Basketball team.
Description of Position:
The Women’s Basketball Assistant Director, Operations will provide administrative support for all Women’s Basketball program activities. The incumbent will be responsible for database management for all aspects of the program, including but not limited to recruiting, alumni relations, and fan and donor communications. He/she will serve as the office manager, responsible for inventory and ordering office supplies, processing expense reimbursements, and coordinating travel needs for the coaching staff. In addition, the incumbent will assist with annual special events (i.e. post-game receptions, donor events, alumni events, Pac-12 tournament, etc.) In conjunction with the coaching staff, the incumbent will assist the Director of Operations and staff, with projects as assigned. This position will also play an important role in the development of the team’s annual community service plan.
